Skilled communicators are adept at distilling complex information to influence, reinforce or change public opinion. But how do you identify what makes a good communicator? What skills and requirements do existing communication teams need to be successful in today’s media environment. What does the future hold?
This course will analyze the key roles and functions within different types of communication teams and outline the composition and skillsets required for high performance. We will look at the process involved in auditing team skills, and how to identify areas for improvement. We will discuss expected changes to the industry at a regional and global level and how managers can prepare for and act upon these changes. Participants in this class will develop a roadmap that ensures that their teams remain fit for purpose and are capable of adapting to and anticipating changes in our modern media environment. In addition to team dynamics, we will look to the impact of existing and new technologies on the profession including the role of AI in automating communication, DeepFakes, Bots, Disinformation, Grey Zone aggression, and PR ethics
