On September 23, the University of Cincinnati (UC), located in Ohio, USA, opened its new Digital Futures building with more than 20 interdisciplinary laboratories. This happened thanks to the gift from Dan Kautz and Woodrow (Woody) Uible that the UC received this summer.
The website of Digital Futures claims that it is designed to solve huge problems with “radical, actionable ideas and breakthrough inventions.” The building hosts various research laboratories, including Cryptoeconomics, Artificial Intelligence, Smart Synergies, Strange Tool, and other labs. These laboratories are led by faculty from across UC’s campus.
Digital Futures building is strategically located within the burgeoning ecosystem of thinkers, researchers, students, and industry Cincinnati Innovation District and located near the 12,000-square-foot prototyping and micro-factory UC’s 1819 Innovation Hub to accelerate and commercialize ideas as well as start up new businesses. The university also prepared a full-fledged handbook dedicated to the Digital Futures building, where you may find more information about its mission: https://ucdigitalfutures.com/handbook/
