Biography

Yinyin Cao, Ph.D., Assistant Professor of Human Resource Management at the University of Michigan, Dearborn College of Business. Dr. Cao joined the Department of Management Studies at UM-Dearborn in 2019 after receiving her Ph.D. from the University of Pittsburgh. She has also worked as a research assistant at the Judge Business School, University of Cambridge, and holds an M.B.A. from Oregon State University.

Dr. Cao’s research interests include work-life balance, employee volunteering, corporate social responsibility, and social sustainability. She is particularly interested in how organizational practices that are not focused on work itself, can potentially foster meaningful experiences among employees, with implications at both the individual and organizational level.
