Biography

Biography

Ya Jun Yu (S’99–M’05–SM’09) received the B.Sc. and M.Eng. degrees in biomedical engineering from Zhejiang University, Hangzhou, China, in 1994 and 1997, respectively, and the Ph.D. degree in electrical and computer engineering from the National University of Singapore, Singapore, in 2004. From 1997 to 1998, she was a Teaching Assistant with Zhejiang University. She became a Post Master Fellow, and subsequently, a Research Engineer with the National University of Singapore, from 1998 to 2004.

She joined the Temasek Laboratories with Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, as a Research Fellow, in 2004. From 2005 to 2016, she was an Assistant Professor with the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Nanyang Technological University. Since 2016, she has been an Associate Professor with the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Southern University of Science and Technology, Shenzhen, China. Her current research interests include digital signal processing and very large scale integration circuits and systems design.

Dr. Yu has been serving as an Associate Editor for Circuits Systems and Signal Processing, since 2009, the IEEE TRANSACTIONS ON CIRCUITS AND SYSTEMS—II: EXPRESS BRIEFS from 2010 to 2013, Digital Signal Processing (Elsevier), from 2015 to 2017, and the IEEE TRANSACTIONS ON CIRCUITS AND SYSTEMS—I: REGULAR PAPER since 2016.

Awards & Honors

In 2011, YE Wenbin who is Prof. YU Yajun’s student won the Silver Leaf Awards of Conference Proceedings of Asia Pacific Graduates Electrical and Microelectronics Conference (PrimeAsia 2011). Silver Leaf Awards only give to the top 20% of the very good papers in the conference. The name of the paper is “An Algorithm for The Design of Low Power Linear Phase FIR Filters”

In 2009, SHI Dong, who is student of YU Yajun won the excellent graduates awards of IEEE Circuits & Systems Singapore Chapter.

In 1997, Prof. YU Yajun won the third prize for Progress in Science and Technology in Zhejiang province. This award is the very significant awards in science and technology area. The awards criteria are based on the general standards on scientific research, promotion on science and technology and influence on society and economy.
