Harvard Medical School
I am the Director of Headache Research at the John Graham Headache Center, Department of Neurology, Brigham and Women's Hospital. I also conduct basic neurogenetics research on the genetic and epigenetic underpinnings of chronic pain and headache - learn more at my lab’s s website: renthal.bwh.harvard.edu
I earned an M.D./PhD at UT Southwestern Medical School where I studied the molecular mechanisms of drug addiction and depression with Dr. Eric Nestler. I then completed a postdoctoral fellowship at Harvard Medical School with Dr. Michael Greenberg where I developed new genomic tools to study neurodevelopmental disorders. My long term goal is to better understand the genetics underlying neurological and psychiatric diseases and help translate this knowledge back to patients.
