Wai Kee Thomas YUEN

Dr. YUEN Wai-Kee Thomas (袁偉基博士) obtained his Ph.D. from the school of Economics and Finance at the University of Hong Kong (HKU). He is currently the Assistant Professor of the Department of Economics and Finance at Hong Kong Shue Yan University (HKSYU). He was the Associate Head of the Department (2012 to 2018) and was the Associate Director of the programme BCom (Hons.) in Financial Technology (2021 to 2022). He is the principal investigator of the research projects “The Evolution of Digital Entrepreneurship, FinTech and FinReg” and “Recent development in theoretical and applied econometrics analysis”, which are fully supported by the Research Grants Council of Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of the People's Republic of China (HKSAR). He has published three books and more than 100 articles, including chapter in books, journal articles, conference papers, commentaries, working papers and professional reports. His research appeared in The Journal of Comparative Asian Development, The Chinese Economy and International Journal of Happiness and Development. His research interests include FinTech, AI, Hong Kong Economy, Green Finance, and Happiness.
