Uta conducts research in two primary areas: (1) motivation in organizations, as well as (2) employee well-being and affect regulation. The majority of her research addresses the following questions: When and why do individuals in organisations engage in proactive behaviour, that is, bring about change in the organisation or in their own job? How do individuals actively manage their own and others’ well-being at work, and how do they come to experience their work as meaningful? Overall, she explores the influence of the social context in organizations on employees’ motivation, well-being and performance.
