Urvashi Kaul  teaches Environmental Finance at the School of International and Public Affairs and Environmental Economics at the Center for Environmental Research and Conservation.

She is the Education Manager for RFK Compass at the Robert F. Kennedy Center for Justice and Human Rights, where she is helping develop programs to encourage the investment community to include sustainability as an integral part of their strategies.

Prior to this, Urvashi was an Assistant Director for Economic Research and Analysis at the New York City Economic Development Corporation, where she evaluated economic and fiscal impact of development projects and events, and analyzed policies and proposals related to New York City''s economic development. She started and managed many of the department''s publications, including the Economic Snapshot, Borough Updates, Industry profiles, as well as NYC Economics (a collection of publications and data on the City''s economy). She also served as the standing advisor for the New York City Labor Market Information Service at the Center for Urban Research, City University of New York.

Previously, she was an Economist for Fiscal and Budget Studies at the Office of the New York City Comptroller.

Since 2001 she has taught graduate level courses in economics, finance and sustainable development planning at Columbia University, Pace University and the Pratt Institute.

A native of Kashmir, India, her education includes an MPA from SIPA, with a concentration in International Finance and Economic Development. In addition, she earned a Masters Degree from the Delhi School of Economics, University of Delhi, and an Undergraduate Degree from Miranda House College, University of Delhi.

Urvashi currently serves on the board of directors of Adhikaar, a New York based not-for-profit organization promoting Social Justice and Human Rights. She is fluent in English, Kashmiri, Hindi and Urdu.
