The Robert H. Smith School of Business
As Executive Communication Coach, Tricia offers workshops, one-on-one sessions and group coaching that addresses students’ oral presentation skills. Tricia launched the Executive Communication Program in the Full-Time MBA Program in the fall semester of 2016. In 2017, she developed and taught the core course Business Communication: Storytelling with Data for the MS in Business Management Program. She also provides presentation skills coaching in the EMBA and Undergraduate programs.
Tricia is a co-founder of HGVenture, LLC a mission-driven management consulting firm. Clients have included the Center for Law and Social Policy, the US Institute for Peace, Theater Alliance, the City of Rockville, American University's School of Communication, CET Academic Programs, Lakeland Community Heritage Project, and Peak Grantmaking (formerly known as Grants Managers Network).
She joined the University of Maryland in 2012 after holding senior leadership and managerial roles in marketing and communications. She is also an actress, host/emcee and producer with stage, television, live event and film credits on camera and behind the scenes. In addition to her role in Business Communication, she supports the Office of Diversity Initiatives as Manager of Training and Education. She is particularly passionate about issues around access and inclusion for people of underrepresented backgrounds. She designs and facilitates workshops and dialogues on gender, race, immigration, and LGBT inclusion and provides targeted communication and leadership coaching for women and minorities.
Tricia holds an M.A. in Instructional Design from the University of Maryland Baltimore County and a B.A. from Wesleyan University. She serves on the board of directors of the College Park Community Foundation and Maryland Coalition for Inclusive Education.
