Haas School of Business

Dr. Shibano is the founder and Faculty Director for UC Berkeley’s Financial Analysis for Non-Financial Executives program that was established 1995. He has consulted with companies worldwide since 1988. His company, Strategic Value Creation, partners with corporate leadership to align their executives with shareholder value. He is on the faculty of General Electric’s Advanced Financial Management Program, disseminating GE’s culture of financial rigor and accountability worldwide since 2000. Dr. Shibano is an Independent Trustee and Compliance Committee Chairman of the Matthews Asia Funds since 2003. Toshi founded the SVC Foundation to deliver pro-bono financial literacy programs targeted at inner-city small businesses to preserve jobs and to strengthen their communities. He earned his PhD at the Stanford Graduate School of Business, his MBA at the UC Berkeley Haas School of Business, and his BA at Brown University. Dr. Shibano has served on business school faculties at Berkeley, Columbia, Chicago, and Stanford. Toshi’s mission is to foster the prosperity of individuals, companies, and communities.
