Biography

I am currently a Project Officer oversees technical progress of medical countermeasures development for the Division of Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear (CBRN) Countermeasures. I have the experience managing contracts for the Federal Government developing medical countermeasures. Prior to Project Officer, I have also lead as the Executive Director for the Public Health Emergency Medical Countermeasure Enterprise (PHEMCE) Radiological/Nuclear (R/N) Requirements Working Group. This particular role helped me to learn establishing Federal policies. I have also lead as the Technical Evaluation Panelists (TEP) Chair for the Broad Agency Announcement (BAA) in various Area of Interests.

Prior to HHS, I was an Assistant Professor of Radiology and the Founding Director for the Small Animal Imaging Program at the Georgia Reagents University. The program turned into a core facility for benefiting the broader research community near Augusta Georgia. This core facility has provided support for obtaining more than 13 million dollars extramural grant funding ranging from VA Merit Award, NIH R01s, and various Foundations.

My contribution to scientific research has been recognized in a number of ways. I serve as an Editorial Board member (Expert Consultant) for Magnetic Resonance Insights, as an ad hoc Associate Editor for Medical Physics, and as an ad hoc reviewer for 17 journals. I have also served as the founding secretary for the Molecular and Cellular Imaging Study Group at the International Society of Magnetic Resonance in Medicine (ISMRM) meetings. I have also chaired several scientific sessions at the ISMRM annual meetings. I have authored 20 peer-reviewed publications, 60 national and international conference presentations, and have 5 U.S. patents in the areas of MRI methodology development. I am certified as a Diplomate by the American Board of Medical Physics in Magnetic Resonance Imaging Physics.
