Tom Casazzone is the Chief Operating Officer at Pencils of Promise (PoP), an innovative "for purpose" nonprofit organization providing quality education in the developing world. He came to PoP in January 2010 as the Director of Finance & Legal Affairs, overseeing an organization with five paid staff members and an annual raise of $85k. Over the next seven years he rose to Chief Financial Officer, and in 2014, to his current position as COO, while overseeing the financial and operational growth of an organization with over 120 paid staff members and an annual raise of nearly $9M.

Tom has over 10 years of nonprofit experience at various sized and focused organizations. Prior to PoP, he worked as a legal consultant for the Orchestra of St. Luke’s and in the business office at the Manhattan Theater Club, two widely acclaimed and respected nonprofit artistic institutions.

Tom has a J.D. from Boston College Law School and is a member in good standing of the New York Bar and the Connecticut Bar. He also attended Boston College as an undergraduate, receiving a BS in Environmental Geoscience and a minor in Music.
