Mendoza College of Business

Prior to joining the Mendoza School of Business to teach in the Master of Science in Finance program, Timothy A. Thompson was Senior Lecturer of Finance at Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management, teaching in the Full-Time and Part-Time MBA programs and the Executive Masters Programs (in Germany, Canada and Evanston).  In addition to MBA program teaching, he also designed and directed corporate executive education programs at Kellogg on topics ranging from Investment Banking and Corporate Valuation to Trusted Advisor Training and Building Effective Teams.  During his time at Kellogg, he also consulted for outside companies on corporate financial strategy and policy, especially on valuation considerations. Prior to joining Kellogg, he worked as a research consultant for the ALCAR Group, advising many Fortune 100 companies on corporate financial strategy options.  Tim earned his undergraduate degree in mathematics (Cum Laude, Phi Beta Kappa) at Lawrence University in Appleton, Wisconsin; he worked on his MBA and Ph. D. (ABD) at the Graduate School of Business at The University of Chicago.
