Thomas D. Kearns, FAIA, LEED AP, is President, DSK | Dewing Schmid Kearns, with offices in Concord, South Dartmouth, and Somerville, MA. Tom’s experience includes large scale regional planning for the twenty-two non-profit institutions of Boston’s Fenway Alliance, Institutional Master Planning for Boston Children’s Hospital, and a broad range of private secondary schools, colleges, universities, and research institutes. Tom has designed award winning projects for Harvard Business School, Johns Hopkins University, Philadelphia University, and Xavier University. In 2017, DSK was awarded Best of Boston Home for the Firm’s residential projects and Best of Boston Magazine for businesses in the Boston region.

As Expert-in-Residence at the GSD, Tom has led a number of Executive Education programs including Leading Organizations, focused on governance of professional services firms, Leadership + Design Thinking, focused on methodologies unlocking creative approaches to complex problems, Advanced Management Development - Team Project, working with global cities to envision smart development and climate resilient urban design; and The Future of Nigeria - Leadership & Finance, London, focused on framing a national leadership agenda.

Tom’s experience includes facilitating strategic visioning workshops focused on an array of topics including “The Future of Transdisciplinary Teaching and Research; Leadership in Professional Services Organizations; Visioning for Underprivileged Communities and Fragile Ecosystems; and Orchestrating Consensus in Complex Communities.”
