Theodosis Mourouzis

Dr Theodosis (Theo) Mourouzis is a Managing Partner at Electi Consulting, a premier consulting boutique focusing on emerging technologies and a Research Fellow at the UCL Centre for Blockchain Technologies (UCL CBT).

He is also the Founder and Managing Director of Cyprus Blockchain Technologies, a non-profit think-tank on technologies with some of its members being UCL CBT, CIIM, University of Nicosia, Oracle, Hellenic Bank, Bank of Cyprus, KPMG Cyprus, Grant Thornton Blockchain Cyprus, Ernst & Young (EY) and many others. The aim of the centre is to promote Blockchain and Distributed Ledger technology.

He held positions of a visiting professor at the Innopolis University (Russia Federation), Teaching Fellow at the University College London (United Kingdom), Programme Director at the CIIM and visiting scholar at the University of Nicosia (Msc in Digital Currency) (Cyprus).

Theo received his PhD in Computer Science (focus: cryptography) from University College London (Information Security Group). He was a member of the UCL Information Security Group that in 2013 was awarded the 1st award in the 4-month UK Cyber Cipher Security Challenge among UK universities, organised by GCHQ and PwC. Additionally, he also holds a MRes in Security Science from UCL, a MSc in Advanced Studies in Mathematics (Number Theory Group) from University of Cambridge and a BA/MA in Mathematics from University of Cambridge. He was a member of the Mathematics National Team of Cyprus for 4 consecutive times (Cyprus 2001 – BMO, Turkey 2002 – BMO, Albania 2003 – BMO, Mexico 2005 – IMO). He is also a member of the board of the Cyprus Mathematical Society.

He has extensive consulting and advisory experience in the areas of information security, ISO27001 (ISO27001 Lead Implementer certified by PECB), cryptography, Blockchain and Distributed Ledger Technologies. He is a participant at the ISO/TC 307 Blockchain & Distributed Ledger Technologies, a Member of the Blockchain Advisory Board of EC-Council, an advisor to the Cyprus government regarding Blockchain Strategy and member of the technical committee at the European Blockchain Partnership (EBP) by European Commission

He has experience working with companies, enterprises, NGOs and governments. Some of the work he has done includes Lloyds Banking Group, Technology Strategy Board (TSB), US Navy, Lloyds Maritime Academy, European Central Bank (ECB), Centre for Defence Enterprise (CDE), MSC Shipmanagement and many others.
