Biography
Alberta School of Business
Thea Bowering has written in various creative and practical fields but is primarily a fiction writer. In 2014 her collection of short fiction Love at Last Sight (NeWest Press, 2013) won the Alberta Book Publishing Book of the Year Award—Trade Fiction and was longlisted for the Alberta Readers’ Choice Award. She has taught Film Studies at The University of Alberta and developed and taught courses in short fiction and essay writing at Concordia University of Edmonton. She has been a story coach, a radio DJ, and has spent years organizing literary events and reading series around Edmonton. In 2018 she joined the Board of NeWest Press, where she sits as an executive member, reads manuscripts, and edits fiction.
