J. Mack Robinson College of Business

Dr. Dionne received his doctorate from the Saїd Business School at the University of Oxford. In terms of research interests, Dr. Dionne utilizes behavioral perspectives to examine corporate investment decisions. For example, he has examined the impact of performance feedback in shaping risk perceptions in mergers and acquisitions, as well as the role of heuristics in screening buyout opportunities in private equity. This work has been presented at various conferences, such as the Strategic Management Society, the Academy of Management, the International Council for Small Business, and the Society for the Advancement of Behavioral Economics. He is a member of the Strategic Management Society and the Academy of Management.

Prior to his academic career, Dr. Dionne worked for a boutique management consultancy, conducting a variety of projects for corporations in the automotive, transportation, and logistics-services industries. This consulting background created an interest in business case competitions, where Steven has served as faculty adviser for various case teams, including the National Black MBA Association and the National Diversity Case Competition. He also serves as faculty adviser for Beta Gamma Sigma, the international business honors society.
