AREA OF EXPERTISE
Brokerage Operations Brokerage Accounting
Stephen specializes in brokerage accounting, brokerage operations and U.S. equities market structure. He has taught courses on high frequency trading, equities trading and support, accounting and regulatory reporting, as well as on the Customer Protection Rule and reserve formula computation (SEC Rules 15c3-1 and 15c3-3) for customer assets residing in U.S. broker dealers.
CURRENT POSITION
As Chief Operating Officer of VTB Capital Inc., a leading Russian investment bank, Stephen oversees all finance and operations functions. He is based in New York.
PAST POSITIONS
Stephen was COO of the Global Equities Division of Cowen and Company LLC, where he concentrated on U.S. equities market structure as well as performance monitoring and enhancement of the business. Previously he was Chief Financial Officer of Adams, Harkness and Hill, as well as Leerink Swann & Co. Inc. In these roles he oversaw the finance, operations and IT functions. Stephen also served as a Branch Chief at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission's New York office, responsible for inspection of broker dealers in the New York region.
