Dr. Schoenbaum is Special Advisor to the President of the Josiah Macy Jr. Foundation, a grant-making organization that fosters innovations in medical and other health professions education. He is Adjunct Professor of Healthcare Leadership at Brown University, and the author of over 175 professional publications. He has been a longtime member and then chair of the International Advisory Committee to the Joyce and Irving Goldman Medical School, Ben Gurion University, Beer Sheva, Israel, and in 2014, he chaired an ad hoc external committee for the Israeli Council on Higher Education that formally reviewed the four older medical schools in Israel. He is a fellow of the American College of Physicians and an honorary fellow of the Royal College of Physicians.
