Stephanie Seminara

Stephanie Seminara, a physician scientist and reproductive endocrinologist, is the Chief of the Reproductive Endocrine Unit at Massachusetts General Hospital, Robert and Laura Reynolds Research Scholar, and Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School. Dr. Seminara leverages human genetics to understand the hypothalamic pathways that control reproduction across mammalian species. Among her contributions, Dr. Seminara led a team that played a critical role in the discovery of kisspeptin as a key gatekeeper of puberty and sexual maturation across mammalian species. She has built a translational program exploring the diagnostic and therapeutic roles of kisspeptin and related neuropeptides in men, women, and children. She continues to seek mutations in genes that contribute to various forms of hypogonadism and infertility.
