Dr. Heissner is Managing Partner of EY’s Fraud Investigation & Dispute Services (FIDS) practice in Central & South Eastern Europe and in the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS). Beside Investigation and Dispute Services additional services like Forensic Technology, Business Integrity and Anti-Fraud & Compliance Management are additional offerings of his team. His team with more than 500 FTE is part of EY’s global FIDS team with more than 3.000 FTE.
Dr. Heissner started his career in this field of service offerings in 1998 at KPMG Forensic. In 2003 he became a partner at KPMG and left the firm to join Ernst & Young (EY) in 2006.
Before joining the Big Four, Dr. Heissner spent 15 years in the German Police, around 5 years in departments for white-collar crime and corruption. He left the police in the rank of a detective superintendent.
After completion of two degrees in economics, he was awarded PhD in 2001. His thesis focused on the behavioral analysis of white-collar crime.
Dr. Heissner is a Certified Fraud Examiner of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners in the US and was a member of the Compliance working group of the Institute of Public Auditors (IDW), which developed Auditing Standard 980 (Auditing Compliance Management Systems).
Dr. Heissner is visiting lecturer at the European School of Management and Technology (ESMT), Berlin and at the Hessian Police Academy, Wiesbaden.
