Biography
After studying for a BA in anthropology at the University of Cambridge, and an MA in Research Methods at the University of York, I did my PhD in Social Anthropology (Material Culture) at University College London. I have worked in various art and design schools, before moving to Manchester University as a Lecturer in Sociology.
I am the cofounder (with Daniel Miller) of the interdisciplinary network the Global Denim Project (www.ucl.ac.uk/global-denim-project) and am a member of two research centres at the University of Manchester: the Morgan Centre and CRESC.
