Biography
I was appointed in 2013 as a lecturer at Manchester Sociology. I have however been here since 2008, both for my MSc and ESRC funded PhD study, and was awarded the latter in June 2014. Previously, I attained a BA in Political Science from the University of Stockholm.
On-going research areas include the rise of a new nationalism that traverses a range of ideological and cultural repertoires (a project that will culminate in a forthcoming book provisionally titled, The New Nationalism; a British Academy funded project aimed at critically unpacking recent invocations of a ‘Left Behind’ in much public analysis; and also, the affective and spatial dimensions of contemporary urban inequality, with particular emphasis on consumerist practices of social identity, urban access and morality.
