Dr Sing Swee Leong is a postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Singapore Centre for 3D Printing (SC3DP), Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore. He obtained his BEng (Hons) in Aerospace Engineering and PhD in Mechanical Engineering with a topic in additive manufacturing (AM) in 2012 and 2016, respectively. His doctoral thesis focuses on laser powder bed fusion of a novel titanium alloy for medical applications. The doctoral thesis and related research are awarded the Best PhD Thesis Award by the School of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, NTU, Singapore as well as Springer Theses Award from Springer Nature, Germany in 2017. Swee Leong’s current research interest is in AM for biomedical and aerospace applications, focusing on materials formulation and development, qualification and certification of additive manufactured medical devices and aerospace components. He has worked on numerous 3D printing projects with government agencies, overseas universities research institutes and industrial collaborators. Swee Leong has filed 3 patents pertaining to 3D printing processes and materials. He has published 1 book, 3 book chapters, 35 peer reviewed journal and conference articles. Swee Leong currently has a H-index of 14 with more than 1100 citations (Web of Science).
