Simon Barnes is a founder and Managing Partner at Circadia Ventures LLP which manages venture capital funds in the field of food sciences and nutrition on behalf of Tate & Lyle the global food ingredients company. He has worked in and around the venture capital industry since 1998 first with Atlas Venture and subsequently with GIMV Venture Capital prior to launching Circadia in 2006. He holds an MA and PhD from the University of Cambridge and an MBA from Imperial College London and has served on numerous boards from early stage to exit in a variety of healthcare and biotechnology sectors. He currently serves on boards in the US, UK and Germany and is a Professor of Practice at Warwick Business School UK.
