Biography

Tilburg University

I am Shirley Kempeneer, Assistant Professor at Tilburg University. Much of my work has focused on performance indicators and management. I obtained FWO funding to analyse and evaluate the EU-wide banking stress test, building on performance management, risk regulation and STS literature. My PhD research, "Breaking the Bank", won the 2019 G.A. van Poeljeprijs and has been published with Eleven International Publishing.

Increasingly I my research interests focus on the use of big data by the public sector. I am interested in digital transformation challenges, open government data communication and visualization, and algorithmic regulation . I am currently involved in the NWO-MVI project citizen-friendly data communication.

I also hold a Chair in Social Value in Real Estate at the Antwerp Management School.
