Biography

Dr. Shira Cohen joins SDSU as an Assistant Professor in Accounting. She holds both a PhD and an MBA from Columbia Business School and an undergraduate degree from the University of Pennsylvania.

Prior to entering academia, Dr. Cohen gained work experience in both the consulting and finance industries. She also served in the government as a visiting scholar-in residence at the Securities and Exchange Commission in Washington, D.C.

Dr. Cohen has earned recognition for her research and teaching. She previously taught at Temple University and Columbia University. At SDSU she will be teaching ACCTG 334 - Intermediate Accounting II.
