Biography

Colorado State University

Shelly brings over twenty four years of experience in the technology industry to her current role as instructor in the College of Business at Colorado State University where she teaches Leadership and Management courses.

An experienced leader with a successful track record in building strong organizational cultures and financial executive management, Shelly focused the last several years of her career on leadership development, teaching, creating and facilitating workshops, and developing motivated and productive teams. Recognized for developing a “Best Place to Work” program at Hewlett Packard (HP) which was instrumental in improving employee engagement scores to the 99th percentile, Shelly was asked to lead a global pilot to develop a strong quality culture for HP’s personal computer business, Quality Matters, which then became the blueprint for a company-wide initiative. This triggered a passion in teaching and leadership development and was the impetus for Shelly’s current career at CSU.

Prior to these roles, Shelly had several senior and executive leadership roles in the finance organization within HP, including Worldwide Controller for the Workstation Division, Director of Finance for the Desktop Division, and several senior financial manager roles in HP’s software and integrated circuits divisions.

Shelly has a Master of Science in Accounting from Colorado State University and a Bachelor of Art in Psychology and Speech and Hearing Science from the University of Iowa.
