Sheila O'Riordan

Dr Sheila O’Riordan is a postdoctoral researcher with the Centre for Open Research and Practice, Business Information Systems (BIS), Cork University Business School (CUBS) at University College Cork. She is currently involved in a project titled Technology-Enabled Organizational Transparency and Openness (TOTO) funded by grants from The Lewis Charitable Foundation (California, USA). The focus of TOTO is to investigate technology-enabled organizational transparency and openness (including phenomena like open source, open innovation, and crowdsourcing) and the adoption of open approaches to science and scholarship. Prior to joining the Centre for Open Research and Practice, Sheila was awarded her PhD from University College Cork and worked as a postdoctoral researcher with the Centre for Resilience and Business Continuity (BIS, CUBS) on an EU-funded project titled S-HELP (Securing – Health Emergency Learning and Planning). This research centred on the design and development of decisions support systems for emergency and disaster management. Her research interests focus on the interplay between technological affordances and user behaviour across a range of domains.
