Dr. Shawn Ogunseye is an Assistant Professor of Computer Information Systems at Bentley University. He earned a Ph.D. in Management (Information Systems) from Memorial University of Newfoundland, Canada. His undergraduate and master’s degrees are in Computer Science (and Math). Before joining Bentley, he was on the faculty at the Sauder Business School, University of British Columbia, Vancouver, Canada.
Dr. Ogunseye’s research focuses on improving the analysis and design of information systems and analytics processes. He studies the role of knowledge in the use of crowd-facing and closed information (enterprise) systems for both consumers and contributors of data. Some of his recent studies have focused on answering questions related to how to better design systems to collect and extract insightful decision-making data. His research finds applicability in a wide range of domains including health care, e-commerce systems, social media systems, and cybersecurity. He has presented his research at national and international conferences and symposia in the contiguous USA, Spain, Canada, India, Ireland, Sweden, Nigeria, just to name a few.
With about 2 decades of consulting and industry experience, Dr. Ogunseye has led product development strategy and change processes for organizations including system architecting and technical specification, implementation, requirements elicitation and management, process redesigns, agile development, testing and maintenance from both dev and business perspectives.
