Shannon Jordan, M.A. Principal/Founder, Career Ingenuity Group

Shannon Jordan is a Board Certified Coach who integrates emotional intelligence, positive psychology, strengths-based development and science-based mindfulness practices into her work with employees, leaders, teams and organizations. After spending 8 years in talent development at Qualcomm, she founded the Career Ingenuity Group to help technical professionals optimize soft skill competencies to thrive in the workplace. This year she has facilitated programs for Qualcomm, eBay, StubHub, PayPal, Genentech, Arcturus Therapeutics, AMEX, Welk Resorts, UC Irvine, Dowling & Yahnke, CalSTRS Investments Branch, and Kaiser Permanente.

Before moving into corporate work, Shannon served for 10 years as managing director of career development programs at UCSD Extension and for 18 years on the adjunct faculty for USD's School of Leadership. She is a contributing author to the book Building Workforce Strength and also spent several years as an Ask-the-Expert columnist on workplace issues for USAToday.com.

A UC alumnae, Shannon holds a B.A. in Business and an M.A. in Counseling, is a qualified Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) teacher, and a certified Search Inside Yourself teacher (SIY is the mindfulness program that originated at Google). She recently completed teacher training with the Potential Project, a global corporate mindfulness consultancy and facilitates the 10 week Corporate-Based Mindfulness Training program.

Shannon has traveled the world and lived in Singapore but calls Solana Beach home where she lives with her husband and teen daughter.
