University of St. Gallen

Prof. Dr. Sebastian Kernbach works as assistant professor at the School of Management (SoM) at the University of St. Gallen, as a guest professor at the Central University of Beijing and visiting fellow at Stanford University.

His connection to the African continent comes from his role as guest professor at the African Doctoral Academy based at Stellenbosch University where he works with PhD students, Post-docs, and faculty from all over the continent and works with the MBA program of Stellenbosch University. Further, he works for the Hasso-Plattner Institute of Design at the University of Cape Town (UCT).

His fields of expertise range from knowledge visualization, over storytelling and meeting management to design thinking, positive psychology, and behavioral economics. His award-winning and best-selling books cover topics such as MeetUp! (www.meetup-book.com), creativity in research together with his Stanford team (www.CreativityInResearch.org) as well as life design (www.LifeDesignLab.ch). His leads the life design lab, the visual collaboration lab and one of his projects is called "the science of action" aiming to uncover strategies to overcome procrastination and the intention-action-gap.
