Scott Wharton

Scott Wharton is Commonwealth Bank’s Group Executive Program Delivery. He commenced this role on 23 August 2019, and is accountable for the establishment, design and delivery of critical programs for the bank. This includes CBA’s Prudential Inquiry Remedial work, the bank’s cost and simplification targets, Group Chief Controls Office and CBA India. Scott is also the accountable executive for x15 Ventures.

Scott has 20 years’ experience in the financial services industry globally, having worked in Australia, the USA and Hong Kong with broad knowledge of technology, operations, risk and finance.

Scott is Adjunct Professor (Industry) at the University of Technology Sydney (UTS) and also currently the Chair of the UTS Business School’s Advisory Board, a board member of Supply Nation (the Australian supplier diversity council) and a board member of the Australia India Chamber of Commerce (NSW). He was previously an advisory board member of Columbia Business School’s W. Edwards Deming Center for Quality, Productivity and Competitiveness. Scott is an Ambassador of the Australian Indigenous Foundation (AIEF) and holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of Sydney, a Bachelor of Laws from UTS, an Executive MBA from INSEAD and an Executive MBA from Tsinghua University in Beijing.
