Professor Schaus is an Associate Professor of Chemistry with a dual appointment in the School of Medicine. He oversees “The Schaus Group” whose research includes the development of asymmetric catalytic reactions for synthesis, new methodologies for library synthesis, and drug target identification and validation. He was honored with the National Science Foundation’s CAREER award for his work from 2004-2009. The CAREER award is the NSF’s most prestigious award in support of junior faculty who exemplify the role of teacher-scholars through outstanding research, excellent education and the integration of education and research.
