Biography

-

I was born and raised on St. Croix in the U.S. Virgin Islands, and recently completed my M.Ed. in Learning Design and Technology from the University of Southern California. I have a deep love for the arts and spent two years at Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA before transferring and completing a B.A. in Theatre Studies at Emerson College in Boston, MA. I first discovered my passion for education while teaching script writing at an after school program for high risk youth in Roxbury, MA. Watching the growth in confidence and self-esteem in my students from the first class to the last was truly inspiring.

Ten years later I have made my way from the front of the classroom to behind the scenes, and have found my place in education as an instructional designer. I love the challenge, excitement, and diversity of designing learning. I relish in breaking down the most complicated topics based on the needs and characteristics of the learners, and making the information accessible to anyone. It is all about choosing the right tool and method to reach the individual. I take pride in being able to create individualized learning experiences. If you want to know more about my twelve years in education, take a look at my Resume here. When I am not designing learning, you can find me playing music or hiking with my husband, Joel, and dog, Lola.
