Bio

Santiago Gallino is an Associate Professor of Business Administration at the Tuck School of Business. He is interested in operations management challenges in the retail industry. Santiago studies both omni-channel integration and store execution issues in retail. In his research, he uses field data and econometric tools to study existing operational practices as well as potential operational improvements.

Before joining Tuck, Santiago worked at IAE Business School in Argentina where he lectured for the MBA, Executive Education, and In-Company programs. During that time he combined his academic activity with consulting work through out Latin America, collaborating with companies in different fields–retailing, food manufacturing and distribution, energy, entertainment–both domestically and internationally.

Santiago's educational background includes a PhD in Operations and Information Management and a Master’s in Statistics (both from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania), an MBA (IAE Business School), and a degree in Electrical Engineering (Universidad de Buenos Aires).

The Wharton School

Santiago Gallino is The Charles W. Evans Distinguished Faculty Scholar, Assistant Professor at the OID Departament.

He is a scholar of operations management (OM) with a particular interest in digital transformation and strategy execution. In regards to applications, Prof. Gallino is passionate about OM challenges in the retail industry. He studies both omni-channel integration and store execution issues in retail. In his research, Prof. Gallino uses field data and econometric tools to study existing operational practices as well as potential operational improvements.

Before joining Wharton, Prof. Gallino worked at the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth.

Prof. Gallino holds a PhD in Operations and Information Management and a Master’s in Statistics from the University of Pennsylvania where he was a Fulbright Scholar, an MBA from IAE Business School, and a degree in Electrical Engineering from Universidad de Buenos Aires.
