Biography
Harvard Medical School
I am a Licensed Clinical Psychologist with specific interests in the areas of psychological assessment, psychometrics & scale development, and identifying risk factors for suicide and violence / aggression. I received my Bachelor's Degree in Psychology at Boston College (1997), Master's Degree in Human Development & Psychology at Harvard University (in 2000), and Doctoral Degree in Clinical Psychology at Suffolk University (2007). I completed my (APA-Approved) Pre-Doctoral Internship (2007) and Post-Doctoral Fellowship (2008) at the Massachusetts General Hospital & Harvard Medical School with a specific focus in psychological / neurocognitive assessment.
Upon completing my Clinical Fellowship in 2008, I joined the faculty of the Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) & Harvard Medical School (HMS) - where I served as Assistant Professor of Psychology (HMS), Director of Research for the Psychological Evaluation and Research Laboratory (MGH), and Clinical Staff Psychologist between 2008 and 2016. I left MGH/HMS in 2016 to focus on building my private practice in Sudbury, MA. In 2021, I returned to academic medicine as Director of the Psychological Assessment and Research Service (PARSe) at the Brigham and Women's Hospital, and Member of the Faculty at Harvard Medical School.
I am Co-Founder and Past-President of the Society for Terrorism Research, and Co-Founder and Past Editor-in-Chief of the academic journal, Behavioral Sciences of Terrorism and Political Aggression (Taylor and Francis / Routledge Publishers). I am past recipient of the Association for Threat Assessment Professional’s (ATAP) Dr. Chris Hatcher Memorial Scholarship Award (2007), and have published over 70 academic papers in peer-reviewed journals, primarily in the areas of psychological assessment, psychometrics, violence, and political aggression.
