Samantha June Stone is a New York City based playwright and theatre artist, originally from Roosevelt Island and currently residing in Harlem. Her work focuses on creating theatre for social change, addressing topics including human trafficking and sexual slavery, chronic illness, the impact of trauma, dysfunctional families, abusive relationships and environmental observation and mitigation. While at Fordham, her play, Tommy's Girls, directed by Ashley Brooke Monroe, premiered in April 2018 at the Walkerspace at Soho Rep. The previous year her one-act, Why I Don't Sleep, was presented in the Primary Stages Studios with direction by Sherri Eden Barber, and was also a finalist for the Ivoryton Playhouse's POWER PASSION PROSE Women Playwrights' Initiative for 2018. She spent the summer of 2017 in Ilhabela, Brazil, participating in the Casa Na Ilha Art Residency, where she developed several projects.
