Wagner Graduate School of Public Service

Sahar Parsa is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Economics at Tufts University. Her research interests lie at the intersection of development economics and political economy. Current projects include a study of female political participation in sub-Saharan Africa (with Siwan Anderson, Sophia du Plessis and James Robinson), analysis of land reform and structural transformation in Taiwan (with Melissa Dell), and experimental research on the relationship between income inequality and attitudes to redistribution (with Laura Gee and Marco Migueis).She has held visiting positions at the Department of Economics, University of Los Andes (Bogota, Colombia), and at the Department of Politics, New York University.

Sahar Parsa received her Ph.D. in Economics in 2011 from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
