Terry College of Business

Ryan Dietz is a seasoned real estate professional and faculty member in the Real Estate Program at the Terry College of Business at the University Georgia. He primarily teaches REAL 4000, a real estate principles course for current and prospective real estate majors, which is also offered as an elective for other UGA students interested the fundamentals of residential and commercial real estate ownership.

Mr. Dietz is a former Director and Professor of Practice for the Master of Real Estate Development (MRED) program at Clemson University, where he taught MBA 8410, Real Estate Finance; RED 8100, Real Estate Roundtable; and MBA 8330, Real Estate Investments.

For seven years prior to that, he was with the FSU Real Estate Center at Florida State University where he ultimately served as Managing Director of the Real Estate Center, and co-taught URP 5939/REE 4905, Urban Planning & Real Estate Development (a cross-listed graduate/undergraduate course.)

In these roles, he traveled the country with over 500 students for real estate industry events and served as advisor for many successful case competition teams. He has also managed several high-level executive boards of directors, and organized dozens of professional conferences and events. He is also formally trained in major-gift fundraising (through C.A.S.E), and has a strong track-record in major-gift development; raising millions of dollars for the institutions he has represented.

Outside of academia, Dietz holds real estate broker's licenses in Florida, South Carolina, and Georgia, and has over 10 years of professional work experience in the areas of commercial real estate development, community development, project management, and brokerage. He started his career as a land developer with Lennar Homes; currently the nation’s largest homebuilder. He then worked in commercial real estate, managing real estate for a family office, Saglo Development Corporation in Miami, Florida. Later, he sold commercial properties, represented commercial tenants, and managed development projects for the UGA alumni-owned firm, Structure Commercial Real Estate. He has been certified in Argus Enterprise, and formally trained in advanced financial modeling for real estate.

Mr. Dietz is a Full Member of the Urban Land Institute (ULI) where he sits on the national Urban Revitalization Product Council, and a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC). He has a particular interest in revitalizing communities and enabling real estate ownership for people of all income levels.
