Biography
Ryan Brown, CFA - Ryan has 18 years of investing experience. He is currently at Davis Selected Advisors in New York City, a privately-held, large cap, long-duration fundamental value manager overseeing approximately $32bn of equity AUM. Ryan is co-manager of the Davis Opportunity Fund and Davis Research Fund. As a generalist analyst, Ryan is also one of ten investment professionals supporting the flagship Davis New York Venture Fund. Prior to joining Davis in 2009, Ryan worked for Quadrangle Group where, in 2005, he was a co-founding member of Harpoon Equity Management, a $500mn hedge fund. Ryan has also held senior equity research roles within Merrill Lynch’s Institutional Investor #1-ranked Media & Entertainment and Satellite Communications teams. He started his career with Merrill Lynch’s equity capital markets group.
Ryan received his B.S. from the University of Florida and is a CFA charter holder. He lives in New Vernon, NJ with his wife and two kids.
