Academic Division: TOIMRuth Gilleran brings over 20 years of industry experience to the classroom including 16 years in the software and 5 years in the consumer goods industry. Prior to joining Babson College in 2001, Ruth worked for Computer Associates where she was Assistant Vice President of Development for its business application division. While at Computer Associates, Ruth was responsible for the development of mainframe and midrange Business Intelligence, eCommerce, and ERP systems. Ms. Gilleran also worked for Cullinet Software where she was a Software Product Manager responsible for the launch of mainframe financial applications. Prior to entering the software field, Ms. Gilleran worked for the Gillette Company as the North American and Asia Pacific Internal Audit Supervisor. During that time period, she earned her CIA-Certified Internal Auditor certificate. While at Babson, Ms. Gilleran has been recognized for her contributions to innovative teaching and curriculum development. In 2012,she was awarded the Dean’s Award for Teaching Excellence in any program. In addition, she was named as Chair of the Babson Teaching Innovation Fund committee. The committee’s mission is to encourage and facilitate the development and publication of new and innovative world class teaching materials by the Babson faculty. Since joining Babson in 2001, Ms. Gilleran has shown tremendous versatility by teaching in the college’s Undergraduate, One Year MBA, Fast Track MBA, Masters of Accounting, and Executive Education programs. Currently, Ms. Gilleran teaches courses in information management studies, general business and entrepreneurship. Prior to joining Babson College, she taught accounting courses at Northeastern University and conducted several IT training sessions for middle and senior-level managers. Within the area of Information Technology Management, Ms. Gilleran''s areas of expertise are Social Business, Business Intelligence, Software Project Management, and Systems Design and Implementation. Most recently, she has been involved in delivering virtual seminars on business intelligence, end-to-end computing, social business, and systems for entrepreneurs.
