Professor Freedman is an Associate Professor of Social Work. Her current research emphasis is on individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families, particularly regarding aging, health and mental health, legal and ethical issues and dual diagnosis. She is a member of both Member, Council on Social Work Education (CSWE) Commission on Curriculum and Educational Innovation and the Governor’s Commission on Intellectual Disability
