Ronnie S. Stangler, M.D., is a physician and psychiatrist, based in New York City. An expert in family and organizational dynamics and crisis management, Dr. Stangler has served for over a decade as advisor to international families in London, Switzerland, Liechtenstein and the Middle East, creating and implementing programs of health, well-being and resilience for complex multidimensional financial, legal and educational organizations, and the individuals they serve.

Clinical Professor at the University of Washington School of Medicine Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences, Dr. Stangler has also served as Advisor to the Personal Genetics Education Project, at the Harvard Medical School Department of Genetics.

Founder of Genome Advisory, Dr. Stangler consults with global families, family offices and enterprise and their advisors, bringing clarity and wisdom to their navigation of the new DNA science of genomics to enhance strategic planning regarding health, risk and legacy.

She has special expertise in addressing the profound ethical, social, legal, privacy, moral and behavioral quandaries related to genomics applications. Dr. Stangler tailors a bespoke approach to complex planning, incorporating personal values, mores and culture, all critical components of decision-making in this exciting new world of reading, writing and creating biology.

At Harvard Medical School, Dr. Stangler co-created a series of multi-disciplinary summits, “Genes, Technology, and Incalculable Ethics: The Family Office of the Future”, hosted by the Department of Genetics. Special guests have included Drs. George Church, Ting Wu, Cliff Tabin, Susan Dymecki, Bruce Yankner and David Sinclair. Dr. Stangler recognizes the unique intimacy of genomics sciences and is committed to assisting families with new philanthropic and legacy endeavors which carry great personal meaning to donors and funders.

A key area of her professional focus is the interface between resilience and wealth. She studies wealth as a risk factor in human development and assists families of wealth and their advisors in negotiating this challenging terrain. Dr. Stangler utilizes her deep knowledge of the neurobiology of early childhood development to effect healthy resilient families.

She is devoted to the development of hyperagents of change, a new generation of philanthropists, social entrepreneurs and impact investors who couple financial capacity with resilient emotional disposition and moral compass. Hyperagents of change, enabled by technology’s transformative connectedness, are fundamentally recasting massive world challenges. These collaborative visionaries will create original solutions to problems of global poverty, health, climate and social justice.

Dr. Stangler is a certified consultant in the 21/64 network of the Andrea and Charles Bronfman Philanthropies. She is a senior member of the examining committee of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, determining standards of practice and professional competence for the field. Elected to the American College of Psychiatrists, she was also named a Distinguished Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association, where she has held many offices, including critical technology-related positions.

Dr. Stangler is Chair of the Scientific Advisory Council of the Aspen Brain Institute and a Founding Member of AccessCircles, a by-invitation network of global women leaders.

Dr. Stangler has contributed to multiple major media outlets, including the New York Times, the Washington Post, the Wall Street Journal, National Public Radio, Forbes, Tharawat Magazine, The Ageist, and Horizons Family Office and Investor Publication.
