Ronald Jeurissen (1958) is Professor of Business Ethics at Nyenrode Business Universiteit and director of the European Institute of Business Ethics (EIBE). The business ethics chair at Nyenrode is the oldest such chair in Europe, established in 1985. Ronald is a member of the Nyenrode Corporate Governance Institute and he is one of the core professors in Nyenrode’s modular executive MBA programs.

 

Prior to this position he was Associate Professor of Business Ethics at Nyenrode and Assistant Professor in the same field at Tilburg University. 

 

Ronald has published widely on business ethics, including six books, and numerous articles in international journals, including the Journal of Business Ethics and the Business Ethics Quarterly. His textbook on business ethics (translated into English as ‘Ethics and Business’, Van Gorcum, Assen, 2009) is the most used business ethics textbook in the Netherlands. His research interests include the theoretical foundations of business ethics, phenomenological research methodology, corporate governance, corporate integrity, HR and marketing ethics. 

 

Ronald is a consultant to many business and government organizations in the Netherlands, on the topic of the management of integrity. Together with others he has developed an auditable and certifiable scheme for the management of integrity. He received his Master’s degrees from Tilburg University in Theology and Philosophy, and his PhD from Nijmegen University in Theology.

 

Secondary positions
Ronald is a member of the Integrity Committee of IVBN, Code of Conduct Committee Bouwend Nederland, Experts Committee for SIO foundation, Visitation Committee for the Center for Economics And Management (Hogeschool van Amsterdam) and Working Group ‘Visie notariaat op toezicht’ for the Koninklijke Notariële Beroepsorganisatie. For VNO/NCW he is member of the Committee for Ethics and Business and Sounding Board Member ‘Levensbeschouwing en Ondernemen’.
