My broader research interests are related to the study of learning processes and the development of collective and individual identity.  My PhD research is part of the wider research project into leadership development in the public sector, where I specifically aim to trace the constitutive effects of leadership education on the local practices of day care institutions. A process analysis informed by an ethnographically inspired approach will study the implementation of a specific leadership development programme, the experiences of participants and their enactment of learning outcomes on return to local organizational practice. By studying not only the intended effects of the development programme, but its manifestation in the subsequent activities of leaders, the goal is to make the effects of the development programme tangible, as interconnected activities and events within networks of situated practices.
