Biography
GIBS Business School
Riëtte Ackermann is a Professional Associate at the University of Pretoria’s Gordon Institute of Business Science (GIBS) and works closely with Programme Managers and client organisations to develop their leaders, and with students across the school. She also runs a private practice, Change Pace, with a focus on personal and professional development through facilitation, executive coaching and the design of learning and development interventions.
She facilitates and lectures on the topics of Personal Mastery, Leadership, Organisational Behaviour, Wellbeing and Team Effectiveness amongst others, and is the Lead Faculty for the GIBS open programme on Facilitation for High Performing Teams. From 2020-2021, she was the Programme Lead for the first fully online designed Post-Graduate Diploma in Business Administration (PDBA) aimed at career advancement for professionals.
Prior to this, Riëtte held several management roles in learning and development. She has been involved in corporate learning and development since 1997 both in South Africa and in the United Kingdom. Her work experience includes design and development of programmes and workshops, instructional design, group facilitation, executive coaching, individual counselling, and administration of psychometric assessments. She has worked in a wide variety of industries, including ITC, legal, financial services, retail, mining, and state-owned enterprises.
Riëtte has a passion for learning and personal development, as well as supporting and empowering others through the challenges of work and life. She believes that life is a journey that offers us many choices and opportunities to learn and grow. Her ongoing personal development is in the field of depth psychology.
