Biography

Robins School of Business

Rick has been alpine, rock, and ice climbing across the U.S. for over 20 years. He counts among his highlights climbing up the Diamond on Longs Peak in Colorado (at 14,259 feet, it’s the highest elevation big wall in the lower 48 states), scratching up classic mixed and ice climbs New Hampshire’s White Mountains, and scaling the beautiful granite cracks on Old Rag Mountain in Virginia.

Rick is the owner of CapRock Venture Guides and is the founder of the Richmond Chapter of the American Alpine Club. He serves on the Board of the Blue Sky Fund, which enables Richmond’s urban youth to engage in experiential education, outdoor adventures, and leadership development. On any given day – especially very early in the morning – you may find Rick climbing on Richmond’s Manchester Wall.
