Richard Rys

Adjunct Professor (Journalism)

Biography

My first gig in journalism was research editor at Philadelphia Magazine, back when writers annotated their stories on paper and Google didn’t exist. Since then, I’ve specialized in sports, media, pop culture, personality profiles, investigative reporting, and longform, along with TV recaps for fun. I hold a B.A. from Rowan University and an M.S. from Syracuse University and have taught journalism at Rowan and Temple University. Currently, I’m the editor of Wharton Magazine and a contributing writer at Philly Mag.
