Richard Mirabile is an Organizational Psychologist with over 25 years of diverse, business, consulting and academic experience. In his current role, he specializes in Leadership Development, High Performance Teaming & Facilitation, Organization Development, and Executive Coaching. He has worked with such companies as Sutter Health, Bio-Rad, Dynavax, Roche Bioscience, Extreme Networks, Lam Research, Sempra Energy, the United States Customs Service, Hewlett Packard, Apple, VMware, VISA, Inc., Global Foundries, FireEye, Texas Instruments, Motorola, Xilinx, Bank of America, Levi Strauss, Blue Shield of California, AT&T, Hitachi Data Systems, Cadence Design Systems, Oracle, Northrop, Lockheed Martin, LucasFilms, Sony Corporation, GAP, Inc., Telenav, Honeywell, Cisco Systems, Intel, McKesson, County of Los Angeles, Ashfield Capital, Phillips, and many others.
In addition to his consulting practice, he has been a Guest Fellow at the Center for Leadership Development and Research in the Graduate School of Business at Stanford University. He has also held positions as Partner, Leadership Consulting Services for Heidrick & Struggles, Director of Human Resources for GTE Telephone Operations Group; Western Regional Vice President of Linkage, Inc., an international consulting and education company specializing in assessment and Leadership development; and Chief Learning Officer (CLO) for Virtual Learn, a venture-backed, e-learning company.
Dr. Mirabile was also the Founder and CEO of Success Factor Systems, Inc., the predecessor company of the company now known as Success Factors. As the company’s first CEO, he developed the original business and product strategy, raised the first two rounds of venture funding, and led the firm from its inception through the first seven years of growth. Success Factors completed a successful IPO in 2007 and was acquired by SAP in 2012. Earlier in his career, he was an Assistant Professor at Purdue University, an adjunct faculty member at the California School of Professional Psychology and John F. Kennedy University. He has also been a guest lecturer at the University of Texas at Austin and is a Certified Life-Work Facilitator from the University of Michigan as well as a Nationally Certified Career Counselor from Southern Illinois University
He has published extensively in professional journals, written a book on Career Decision Making, has written a chapter on Knowledge Mapping in a book entitled, Leading Organizational Learning and recently published an article titled, “What Michelangelo Can Teach Us About Talent Strategies”. He has also been a featured speaker at many national and international conferences.
He holds a B.A. in Psychology, a double M.S. in Psychology and Business, both from Southern Illinois University and a Ph.D. in Organization Systems from Purdue University and has several national certifications in counseling and human resources.
